Podcast 1-23

Well here I am on Soundcloud, putting up a podcast while annoyed that I can’t post on Youtube :/

Nonetheless, here’s my podcast for today. I also realize that I have been somewhat neglectful in terms of posting updates on this website. This whole Youtube situation has made me reassess things, and I will be updating much more frequently from henceforth.

In today’s podcast, I discuss the usual eclectic variety of topics while trying to avoid the crippling depression of sitting around talking to myself like an asshole. We open up the podcast with the Shaggs’ cover of “Yesterday Once More” by the Carpenters, and I discuss the glorious musical incompetence of the four ladies from New Hampshire in question.

Then I discuss the new “documentary” Expedition Content, which uses outtakes from the 1963 anthropology documentary Dead Birds (aka that expedition in which Michael Rockefeller, ahem, “disappeared”) to make a point about racism or something. The climax of this film is a bunch of goofy white people sitting around a campfire doing impressions of black people, and this is somehow more interesting than a tale of headhunters and tribal warfare and the son of the governor of New York being eaten by cannibals.

Then we discuss architecture, the perpetual forcing of the “Latinx” phrase (GRETCHEN STOP TRYING TO MAKE LATINX HAPPEN), some comic book crap, the federal government undertaking the monumental, very important task of deregulating French dressing, and the weird, creepy, fetishistic obsession that liberal white people have with black people (yes, we will be discussing Chris Hayes getting tingles up his leg while looking at the glorious visage of Barack Obama).

After that, we have a brief discussion about “toxic masculinity” and how the term is basically meaningless in this day and age, as it is not being used to describe emotionally open “soft bois” and how somehow they themselves are also “toxically masculine”.
