Prostitution Metric 2: America Contra the Rest

So as we discussed last week, America’s Sexual Crappiness is reflected in its sex industry: how even busted hookers can get guys to pay pretty high prices (relatively speaking), and how archival photos of NYC hookers from the 1930s look better than not only the modern whore, but a lot of regular women too!

As some have pointed out, this reflects poorly on American society; that America today worships ugliness to such an extent that literal whores look better than a substantial percentage of American women today

(Hey, I’ve defended American women in the past, but I won’t deny that the overall culture teaches them to be ugly, fat, and obnoxious. I just find that many of them are capable of resisting this. At least the ones I’ve been involved with at any rate).

But this is not the only way that the oldest profession holds a mirror to American society—consider the mere existence of camwhoring, sugar daddy arrangements, and Instagram thottery. Are these not forms of glorified prostitution?

What does it say about American society that random women are going out and doing this on their own accord (ie: they’re not coerced by pimps or ostensibly psychologically damaged)?

As Iceberg Slim’s Pimp showed us, very rare was it in his day that a good, innocent ingenue would be corrupted and “turned out” by a whoremonger. All of the women in his harem were all already prostitutes or came from abusive homes or were otherwise psychologically damaged…so are all these instragram thots and camwhores also coming from abusive situations? Or is American society itself a corrupting force that makes women into whores?

Whether its that society corrupts, or that so many families are abusive that women are growing up and becoming essentially prostitutes…whichever is the case, that implies that America is on a massive downward trend.

Granted, its not the majority of American women doing this sot of thing but, again, the fact that some women of respectable backgrounds are dong this at all shows something is wrong here! Whether its men or women, prostitution reflects on society.

But so far we’ve only looked at America. What about other countries in which prostitution is legalized? How are they sexually? Obviously they have reputations for being much more libertine and sexually, er, warm, than the USA, but how are they in terms of percentages of thottery and sexual awkwardness?

(Yes I know I promised this would be three articles, but I couldn’t stretch it out, deal with it).

This issue is somewhat murky—the manosphere abounds with tales of how awful sex is in Sweden (a nation that has outright criminalized buying and selling sex), so clearly a schoolmarm-ish blanket ban is no good. And there is an abundance of evidence that “human trafficking” is somewhat overblown as a threat (overblown for the usual feminist reasons, naturally). Furthermore, a study in Rhode Island showed that rates of sexual assault and gonorrhea decreased with its legalized “indoor prostitution” loophole.

However, in regards to sexual cloddishness, there’s certainly no shortage of garish, un-subtle sexual nonsense elsewhere in the world.

And with all this being said, suddenly infusing a nation with massive quantities of cheap pussy may very well have negative effects on a moral and psychological level—again, I don’t know if any academic research has been done on the subject, but I know that I could very easily have become a sloppy, degenerate hedonist had I not rethought my life. And I know that men who give themselves over to meaningless sex don’t seem particularly happy in the long run.

So while I do support legalizing prostitution as a “necessary evil” (and to prevent the women in question from being hooked on drugs or abused), I don’t support it on a moral/philosophical level. Perhaps a combination of legalization and activism against it (as they’ve done to decrease tobacco usage) would be the answer?
